itsme reaches full EU coverage – a milestone for digital identity

Brussels, November 2025 – itsme^®, the leading European digital identity platform, has officially become available in all 27 countries of the European Union, marking a major milestone in its mission to make secure digital identity accessible across borders. The platform operates in 30 countries in total, including the United Kingdom, Norway, and Iceland.

Unlocking cross-border use cases

The broader availability of the itsme^® app marks a significant step towards a truly pan-European digital identity solution. For instance, truck drivers travelling between member states can now use itsme^® to verify their identity to securely access ports in Belgium. Likewise, expats can open bank accounts in markets that support itsme^® without the need for passport scans or in-person verification.

Because itsme^® is certified at the Level of Assurance 'High' under eIDAS, which is the EU regulation for electronic identification and trust services. itsme^® is also is technically compatible with the upcoming European Digital Identity Wallet, making this milestone represent a tangible step towards the future of trusted digital identity in Europe.
