Liantis supports entrepreneurs and SMEs across Belgium in the entire business journey, from HR and payroll to wellbeing. To increase the efficiency of collaboration between employers and employees for its clients, Liantis created Lia, an online facilitation platform designed to digitise and simplify everyday administration and communication. 

For Lia to succeed, Liantis needed a secure and user-friendly way to securely authenticate users and manage legally-recognised digital signatures. This led them to Dioss Smart Solutions, a technology company specialising in digital identity and secure document workflows. Securing recently digitalized workflows

As Liantis digitalised its contracting and HR processes by migrating its work to the Lia platform, a key challenge emerged: ensuring with certainty the identity of users and signatories in a fully digital environment. 

“In the past, we signed papers in person, which meant we could always verify who was signing,” explains Saskia Deschepper, SME Service Development Manager at Liantis. “Once we moved to digital workflows, we needed that same level of certainty when it comes to authenticating users and ensuring the identity of signatories of digital documents.”

Solution:

Authentication and QES with Dioss and itsme^®

Dioss Smart Solutions, a long-standing expert in identity and digital signing, provided the answer to Liantis, enabling multi-factor authentication and a simple integration to Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) from itsme^®.

QES is the most secure form of e-signatures, meeting the highest standards of trust and compliance per the eIDAS regulation, and holding the same legal value as a handwritten signature. “By integrating itsme^®, we can deliver signatures that are fast, secure, and effortless, and that’s exactly what Liantis needed for Lia,” added Saar De Zutter, CEO of Dioss Smart Solutions. 

Trusting itsme^® also had a double fold advantage, since most adults in Belgium already rely on it to authenticate themselves for private and public services. This made choosing itsme^® to facilitate login and authentication in the Lia platform feel like the natural fit for this task, as it did not introduce friction to the user journey since users most likely already have an itsme^® account and application on their phones.

Boost in user adoption without extra support costs

Integrating user authentication and QES from itsme^® through Dioss Smart Solutions has been a major enabler for the success of Liantis’ Lia platform. User adoption for Liantis soared from 10,000 to 80,000 users in just one year. This aligns with the growing significance of QES in Belgium and beyond; in 2024 alone, itsme^® saw a 52% increase in QES’ usage, with 2.2 million signatures placed using our app.  

Additionally, onboarding and identification became effortless, boosting engagement and retention among employers and employees. Additionally, despite rapid growth, support requests remained stable.
